Volunteer Schedules

If every family volunteers for 5 slots during the season we will be covered.

Scorebook and Libero Tracking Training

I’ll give scorebook and Libero tracking training during the Tue., Aug. 26 and Tue., Sep. 2 games (both JV and Varsity).  I’ve also posted on the blog new links to Scorebook and Libero Tracking Instructions.  (Left side under the RELATED LINKS section.)  These are great for a quick refresher before a game.

What a fabulous group of parents!  We only need a few more game day volunteers to complete the schedule.  For those of you who have not yet volunteered, please review the Volunteers - Game schedule then email me the games and jobs you can fill.

Picture Day

Dear Families,

I have updated the calendar for practices on Monday and Tuesday of next week.  Monday we will practice from 2:45-4:30.  We realize some students may be late due to school meetings.  Tuesday will be picture day.  We are asking that your child is in the gym by 4:00.  Pictures begin at 4:30.  Players need to wear their uniform and black spandex.  They will need black spandex for the remainder of the year during our games.

Also, please do not forget about our parent meeting this Thursday at 7:30.  Please bring your calendar so you may sign up to volunteer at our games.

CA VB Team Parent Intro Communication

Hello CA VB Parents and Players:

Hard to believe it’s already time to start the 2014 volleyball season!  My daughter, Ana, will be one of the seniors on the team this year.  I will be your team parent rep for the 2014 season.  Many of you know me from last year.  I look forward to meeting the rest of you.

Players – you have some very important tasks:  practice hard, play well together, and have fun!

Parents – we also have some very important tasks.  It’s our job to help the team run smoothly and to coordinate many of the fun events for the year.  To get us started, we’ll have a team Parent Meeting on this coming Thursday, Aug. 14^th from 7:30-8:30pm in the CA gym.  Please plan to attend this important meeting. 

One of our most important responsibilities is to keep score at each match.  On Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 5:30, I will give a hands-on scorekeeping training session during the scrimmage at Reynoldsburg.  Please attend if you’ve never kept score before or if you’d like a refresher.  I will also try to schedule a couple additional training sessions during upcoming practices.

I’m looking forward to a great season and to working with all of you!   Watch this BlogSpot for other updates and important information throughout the season.

Volleyball Camp and Summer League

Hello families,

Just a reminder that this is the last week for Wednesday night Summer League.  This Wednesday will be at Whitehall.  Warm-ups start at 5 and play starts at 5:30 and ends at 7:30.  It is ok if you need to be late due to transportation, because we play in 30 minute increments so you will definitely be able to play!

Also, the following week we will have our team camp with Coach Monica McDonald.  Wednesday (July 30) night we will go from 5-9pm with a dinner break in between.  Thursday (July 31) will be the same hours, 5-9pm with a dinner break in between.  Friday we will scrimmage Gahanna Christian from 6-8pm.  (This will not be included in the cost of camp).  The cost of camp for two days is $45 (total).  Please make checks payable to Monica McDonald, or you may pay her in exact cash.  Please put the money in an envelope marked with your child's name so we can keep track of what has been paid.  We also ask that you bring in $10 cash for dinner ($5 for each day) so we can order food during the break.  Please send in exact cash for dinner as well.

Summer League, etc.

Dear families,

We have two sessions left in our volleyball league on Wednesday nights.  We have had to borrow girls from other teams to be able to form a team for the league.  This Wednesday will be at Columbus Academy and the 23rd will be at Whitehall.  Warm-ups start at 5 and play starts at 5:30.  If transportation is an issue, you can get there late.  Games go in 30 minute increments.

Also, please email Coach Roehrenbeck if you will be attending the Team Camp ran by Monica McDonald from Otterbein on July 30, 31, and August 1.  We would like to have a head count ASAP.

Also, if you know of any new volleyball players, please direct them to our blog and remind them to sign up for email updates!
