Please come out and support your CA Volleyball Vikes as they take on rival, Bexley - at home on Tuesday, October 10th.

It is also Senior Night - honoring our only Senior this year -Co-Captain, Khloe Dubenion!

The brief ceremony will take place right before the Varsity game at 6pm - spread the word & let's have a BIG turn-out for Khloe and our lady Vikings, as they seek revenge on their loss to our rival earlier in the year.  This is the LAST home game - VIKING NATION, let's see and hear you!!

Dig Pink Game

Dig Pink Game vs. Whitehall

Oct 3rd 2017

Next Tuesday for the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams will be participating in a Dig Pink game with Whitehall.  Kayla Podgurski has partnered with the Side-Out Foundation to organize this event to raise awareness for breast cancer.  You may know that Kayla has recently given her Junior Speech and has dedicated a lot of time researching this disease.  As part of this event we would like to invite and honor and breast cancer survivors before the game with a pink rose.  If you have any personal connections with someone that is or has battled breast cancer and would like to invite them to the game, please let either myself or Kayla know by the end of the week. 

Because there is no JV B game that night, the girls are invited to Join the Junior Varsity game.  The girls will all have a pink jersey to wear and we are trying to "pink out" the gym, so come in your best pink gear and cheer us on as we seek vengeance on Whitehall!

Granville Christian does not have a JV team so Thursdays game will be varsity only.  Game time will still be at 6:00.  JV does not have practice

Libero Tracker/Scorebook Instruction Tutorial 8/15

Parents & supporters of CAVB 2017:

I will be demonstrating how to work the Libero Tracker and also the Scorebook, at Tuesday's home scrimmage (8/15).

This could be helpful for those of you who would like a refresher or learning from square one... neither are difficult, but they are important!

We collectively need a LOT of support with Volunteers, as Coach Gepper indicated at the Parent Meeting last Friday... please sign up with Christine Freytag (and SignUp Genius).

Parent Meeting this Friday

Reminder:  We are holding a parent meeting on Friday after practice (around 5:45) in the gym.  Please make an effort to attend as we will be giving important information about the season as well as signing up for volunteers for line judges and for people to do the book.

Also, If there is a JV parent that would like to be the team parent please let me know.  The responsibilities would just be to organize all of the volunteer spots for the JV season. 

Lastly the scrimmage on Thursday will be a varsity scrimmage, but we would like all JV players to be there.

Due to the summer experience program we are unable to get into the gym until 4:15 next week.  Practice will be from 4:15-6:15 all of next week.  Including conditioning on Monday.

Conditioning and Practice times

Good Morning,

Next week we will be holding conditioning practices on the following dates:
Tuesday 25th 6:30-8:00
Wednesday 26th 6:30-8:00
Thursday 27th 6:30-8:00
Monday 31st 3:30-5:00

These are optional practices but a good opportunity to get a start to the season as well as get some one on one time with the coaches.  We understand that many families are on vacation that week but wanted to give girls the opportunity to get in the gym if their schedule permits.

Volleyball Open Gym Moved to Sunday the 8th from 6-8 pm this week!

Happy 4th everyone!  In efforts to get more girls out to open gym we are going move it to Sunday this week.  If your family is in town, please make an effort to be there. 

Team Camp Reminder: Team camp is July 17-19th from 5-8.  The cost is $70 per person. If there are any financial hardships, please email me.   I still need t-shirt sizes for most of the team ASAP (I have had only 5 responses)

Summer Camp information

Hello All,

I hope you are all enjoying your summer.  Two important dates that are coming up:

1. June 26th-June 30th from 9:00-11:30 AM: Summer Experience Volleyball camp.  We are expecting around 20-25 campers this year from 2nd grade to 8th and always are in need of volunteers to help out as well as get a ball in their hands and have an opportunity to play.  The girls will also receive service hours for the time that they put in.

2.  Team Camp: July 17th-19th from 5pm-8:00pm.  I need to get a final head count and tee-shirt size ASAP.  Please shoot me an email with tee-shirt size.

Open Gym and Summer Lifting

Good Afternoon,

I hope all is well and exams are running smoothly.  Two more days!!!  Open gym went great last week, the girls all got a chance to meet our newest member of the coaching staff, Andy Snouffer!  Coach Snouffer comes to CA with a lot of positive energy and coaching experience. We are all very excited to have him on board.

Open Gyms: Will be every Wednesday this summer starting on the 14th of June from 6:30-8:30.  Understandably family vacations are a part of summer break :), but if you are in town please make an effort to be there. 

Summer Lifting/Conditioning:  The strength and conditioning coach Mark Hammond will be working with all athletes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 am to 11:30am.  This is a very valuable (and free) asset even if you are only able to attend some, or for even part of the time.  He will be working on speed and agility on the turf for the first half, strength training in the middle, and conditioning at the end.

Whew!  I can't believe the school year is almost over:)

Volleyball Summer Team Camp

Good Morning!

As summer is quickly approaching, I wanted to get you information on team camp.  Very similar to last year, we will hold team camp at Columbus Academy and bring in college coaches from Otterbein University.  Camp dates will be: July 17th-19th from 5pm-8:00pm.  The price will be around $35 and includes a t-shirt.  Please try to schedule vacations around these dates as they are the kick off to the season!
