Reminders - Games, etc. for week of 8/29 thru 9/2

Coming off of tough losses to CSG & Delaware Christian for both JV & Varsity, we need everyone's support as we head in to our next week of games!   This week's schedule & list of volunteers:

Monday, 8/29 - 1st DAY of SCHOOL!  VARSITY ONLY practice 3:30 - 5pm - NO JV PRACTICE

Tuesday, 8/30 - GAME DAY!  AT Grandview

 (1587 W. Third Ave. Columbus 43212)

JV - 5pm... Scorebook Volunteer = Jessica Henry

Varsity - 6pm - Scorebook Volunteer = Laura Dubenion

Wednesday, 8/31 - Practice 3:30-5pm

Thursday, 9/1 - GAME DAY - First Home Game vs. Whitehall!

JV - 5pm - Scorebook = Sandy Doyle-Ahern, Line Judges = Mike Ahern & Jessica Henry WE ARE IN NEED OF A JV CLOCK KEEPER & A LIBERO TRACKER PLEASE!

Varsity - 6pm - Scorebook = Lynnda Davis,Clock Keeper = Cheryl Boltz, Libero Tracker = April Tibbles & Line Judges = Kevin Dubenion and we now need a 2nd line judge PLEASE!

Friday, 9/2 - Practice 3:30-5pm

SNACKS... PLEASE make the Coaches, Laura Dubenion &/or Nikki Smith aware if your daughter has any food allergies or dietary restrictions asap!

Note that Nikki Smith (Madi & Kenzi's Mom) will be handling ALL snacks for EVERY game this year! Please make sure you have gotten your $ to her ASAP to contribute ($90).

Suzanne N. Smith.  They can give it to Kenzie or Madi at practice or Nikki or Laura at a game or mail it to 370 Beecher Rd. Gahanna Ohio 43230.  

YOUR Lady Volleyballer is responsible for her own drink(s) however… please make sure she has plenty of water/Gatorade, etc. for practice, warm-ups, games & post-game.

Reminders:

Volunteers for Saturday's games, please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the game, prepared with your pen(s)... a 4 color is helpful for the scorebook!  Check in at the score table.

Please bring your $90 ($40 for JVB-only) CAVB season snacks/meals, if you're able, on Saturday.

Payable in cash or make a check payable to Suzanne N. Smith.

** Note that April Tibbles (Kami #14) & Laura Dubenion (Khloe #12) will be available to train anyone that would like to learn the scorebook at the Saturday, 8/27 games!

Note that Varsity is meeting at school at 7:30am to ride to CSG as a team and JV is meeting directly at CSG at 8am.  A pre-game snack will be provided for both.  (**See CAVB 2016 Snack Info link)

*schedule star says we start at 10, but both Varsity & JV will play their first match at 9

JV/V Home Tri-Matches with Columbus Academy & Delaware Christian                           

Varsity will be in the Crane Gym, JV in the Gold Gym. 

 Playing schedule will be:
1st Match @ 9am:              CSG v. Columbus Academy
2nd Match @ 10:00am:     Delaware Christian v. Columbus Academy
3rd Match @ 11:00am:       CSG v. Delaware Christian

*Please note these times are rough estimates.
Please be ready to play upon completion of prior match.

All teams and fans must enter through our Main/Athletic Entrance
65 S. Drexel Avenue.

That is the only entrance that will be open that morning.

There will be a gate- Adults $5, Students & Seniors $3

This Week's News/CAVB Game Volunteer Sign-Ups!

GREAT week last week!

The scrimmage against Linden McKinley went well... the girls had an awesome start :)

Hopefully you made it out to the Parent/Coaches Info Meeting & if not, most info you'll need is located here on the BLOG.

PERTINENT INFO needed asap:

PLEASE sign up for the Game-Day Volunteer slots.  We need multiple volunteers, particularly for home games... for ALL 3 teams!

The blog now has the sign-up sheet that went around at the meeting & we're currently filling in all of the info collected via SIGN UP GENIUS for ease of use going forward.  (Link coming this week)

Let Laura Dubenion know if you have issues signing up & if you're available for the first few games... we want to get those slots filled THIS WEEK please!  Laura@Dubenion.com or 614 316-6148.

Reminders - Week of 8/15 - 8/19

We will send out weekly reminders for the CAVB games/events, etc. via the BLOG updates that will blast out no later than Monday around 1pm of each week.  This week...

Monday, 8/15 - NO PRACTICE!  Coach Gepper indicated that the Otterbein Camp was a success!  The Lady Vikings learned a lot and worked very hard (as you may have noticed!)

Tuesday, 8/16 - Practice at 4:00 and PARENT MEETING following practice, around 5:30

PLEASE come to meet the coaches, other parents & to get vital info regarding the season!

Wed., 8/17 - SCRIMMAGE vs. Linden McKinley at CA - 5pm.  We will be demonstrating how to line judge, do the Libero tracker & how to do the scorebook, so please come & support your Lady Vikes and learn/brush up &/or help instruct other parents so that we're well-covered all throughout the season for all of our teams... your participation is necessary and greatly appreciated by all!

CAMP, 8/15 Practice & Parent Meeting Info!

1)  Reminder... CAVB Camp is Wed., 8/10 through Friday, 8/12 - 4:30pm

**Otterbein Women's Volleyball Head Coach Monica McDonald once again joins forces with the CAVB coaches to host a pre-season camp**  $30 fee for the 3-day camp (includes t-shirt!).  Please send a check with your Lady Viking & make it out to "WRIGHT CAMP".

2)  PRACTICE IS CANCELLED FOR MONDAY, 8/15!!

3)  **** NEW INFO! ****  All-CAVB Parent Meeting!
     Please plan on attending a very informational meeting with your CAVB Coaches.  It's for  CAVB parents of ALL Lady Volleyballers... after practice (5:30-ish) on Tuesday, August 16th!  We'll be discussing:

• Snacks/Food allergies
• Volunteerism opportunities (LOTS & we need you!  please bring your calendars!)
• Game schedules
• Rosters
• COACH will be speaking about the upcoming season
• Kim/Physical Trainer & Dom/CA A.D. - rules/regs/details/forms (potentially)
• Time for questions, ideas

PLEASE come, if you can, & we'll all begin the adventure of the 2016 CAVB season together!

MONDAY, 8/8 Practice Change!

Note that Practice for this coming Monday, August 8th has been changed:

MONDAY only will be 9:45 - 11:45 am.

All CAVB players are to come with uniforms for pictures & practice will follow.
