Senior Player Portraits this Friday
The Columbus Academy Athletics Dept. will photograph "sportraits" of all senior athletes in all CA sports this Friday (Sept. 21) beginning at 10:30 a.m. during activities period. This will include ALL seven of our senior volleyball players on both the junior varsity and varsity teams. Student athletes must be properly dressed in their complete game-day uniform, including shoes, socks and knee pads. This is the day after the Bexley away game, so don't forget to wash and bring your uniforms to school.

We Need Parent Support!
Game Day Support
We still need parents to to run the scoreboard and clock, keep the scorebook and serve as line judges at all of our games. Please check the volunteer schedule to see if you can fill any of the open timeslots. Contact Cyndi Yakscoe to volunteer.
Concession Stand
The date of the last football game has been changed to Thursday, 10/18, 7 p.m. This is the night that we need six volunteers from the volleyball team to work the concession stand. Proceeds from concession sales support all CA athletic teams, including volleyball, so please contact Julie Frazier if you can join us.
We've uploaded new photos from recent JV and Varsity matches to the photo sharing pages. View the photos here.

Event Support Needed
Parents Needed for CA Football Concessions: Friday, Oct. 19
We need six parents to work at the 10/19 home football concession stand. Concession sales provide financial support to all sports teams, so each sport is responsible to work the booth during one home game. It's actually fun and a great way to get to know other CA parents. Please contact Julie Frazier(at)columbus.rr.com to volunteer.
Charlie David Dinner: Friday, Oct. 5

Charlie David Dinner: Friday, Oct. 5
Join the Columbus Academy sports teams for our annual sports program fundraising event before the home Bexley football game. The dinner — $10 per person — runs from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the dining hall and include raffles, silent auctions and games for the kids. Parents are also asked to consider becoming and event sponsor. Please see the attached form and remember to designate your gift to support our volleyball program.
Volley for the Cure: Monday, Oct. 8
Volley for the Cure: Monday, Oct. 8
Grandview Heights High School is hosting an evening of food and programming to raise funds for the Susan B. Komen Foundation benefiting Breast Cancer research. Our team will wear pink shirts and there will be a printed program featuring the name(s) of a fighter, survivor, or in memory of a breast cancer victim beside each athlete's name on our team roster. You may also support the cause by buying dinner at the event and participating in other activities, including: raffles, bake sale, merchandise for purchase, themed gift baskets, donations/prizes from local businesses and a "Serve for Your Supper" game at halftime.

Game times
Dear Families,
I'm sorry for the game time discrepancies tonight vs. Lakewood. We were emailed many changes in the start of the season for our schedule and apparently numerous websites (Lakewood included) were not updated. If there is ever a question about game time, please ask your daughter first what time the bus is leaving so you have an idea of what time we start. Maureen Belcher is the final say as to when we leave and does not leave her office (usually) until all teams have left for their games, so your daughter will know for sure what time the game starts. We are going to send home an updated schedule (hard copy) of our game times, so please be sure to ask your daughter for it when she gets home from the next practice. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
